It’s not easy to imagine your fiercest self.
What does that even mean…to be your fiercest self?!?
Your fiercest self is your best self. It’s the potential you have in you to reach new levels of yourself, to be the baddest, coolest woman that lives her life for herself! Doesn’t that just sound so inspiring!
Your fiercest self doesn’t have ceilings or limitations because she’s limitless.
Your fiercest self is the woman you were born to be. She’s forever evolving and growing more and more into her most authentic spirit.
And guess what, you can choose to be her now!
You: Ok ok ash, that all sounds amazing but how do I know who my fiercest self is and how to be her?
Me: I got you girl.
I started journaling and spending more time getting to know myself and that’s when I started to learn who I was, who I am, and who I want to become.
The truth is, you’ll never know yourself until you start getting to know her.
She’s worth it. She’s so rad and you probably don’t even know it yet! So many of us spend so much of our lives not knowing our true selves because we have spent more time telling ourselves all the things we aren’t.
“Knowing who we are is hard. Eliminate who we’re not first, and we’ll find ourselves where we need to be.” ~Greenlights | Matthew McConaughney
Where you start is by spending more time with yourself, by doing this activity of the “Me” Pic, and by clarifying who you aren’t, first.
When I started journaling, I was a girl on a mission to develop a relationship with myself by listening to her, knowing her feelings, what hurts her, what she doesn’t like, who she isn’t and from there, I started to learn who I am. Journaling is a beautiful practice I highly recommend.
I journal every night at 8:30pm on the dot for 30 minutes.
It’s my time to talk to myself and hear me out. To connect with what’s happening in my mind and heart. I was able to put together my “Me” list by journaling.
It’s time to do this!
Here are my 3 tips for learning who your fiercest self is now, making your Me pic, and start moving in the direction of her by choosing to be her now!
1. Take A Walk & Decide Who You Want To Be
Walking is like a moving meditation. Lace up your shoes, find a quiet place to walk for 30 minutes a day and just start by thinking about how you feel in your life.
Your mind will wander and you’ll start thinking about your problems, the friend who pissed you off last week, and all the things you have to get done still today.
Resist the temptation to stay in that mindset.
Choose to direct your thoughts back to how you’re feeling in your life. Start by asking yourself these three questions on your first walk.
- How do I feel about the life I’ve created up to this point?
- How do I want to feel about my life?
- Where am I not doing the things that I really want to do and what’s holding me back?
It won’t be easy to hear the answers but if you really listen, focus on each question one at a time and keep walking forward, the most truthful answer will come to you. Wait for it, be patient and listen.
Your answers will inform where you are and aren’t showing up as your fiercest self.
When I did this exercise, I realized that I had been people-pleasing my life away and that that was what was holding me back from what I really wanted in my life and who I wanted to be.
Pleasing everyone else as my main motivation showed me I was just trying to be liked and find my self-worth in everyone else. And from there, I realized that was me giving my power away and I had a new direction: to find my worth in me and me alone.
You see how just starting to ask yourself the right questions and listening to your Self, what comes to the surface is what’s true and truly, will start guiding you in the direction of your fiercest self.
Who you are now. Where you are now. It’s exactly perfect. It’s on time and there are no mistakes.
Accepting where you are now won’t be easy but if you focus on the work that you’re doing and honor yourself in the process, you’ll be able to use where you are now to show you where you want to go next and how to start moving in that direction!
2. Make Your ‘Me’ Pic
Get ready to have some fun! Put your current favorite outfit on that makes you feel fierce, put some makeup on and take a picture of you with your self timer. Or you can have someone else take the pic of you. It can be any pic of you just that you feel fierce! What that means to you is up to you to discover about yourself.
Is she in her leather jacket smizing or is she in her butterfly choker with a hat on smiling?
You decide. And what you decide is true for you and that’s all that matters!
You can also take any picture of you that you love and do this activity but I love the idea of intentionally creating a photo with you in this very moment. It’s symbolic of step #3.
Once you have your pic, open up Instagram and open up your stories like you’re going to create a story. (step by step below)
Then, start creating your declarations.
Your declarations are all the things your fiercest self does. These are all the things you’re going to step into now and begin doing!
Here’s a step by step of how to make your ‘Me’ pic in Instagram stories.
2. Pic a font and color and make your first Me box.
3. Start adding your other habits and things your fiercest self does.
4. Finish your list and save the image by screenshotting then cropping it. Then share or keep for yourself!
3. Start Being Her Now
Your ‘Me’ pic is a true representation of your fiercest Self. All you have to do is start practicing those things now. As in, today!
So often we lack clarity of what we want so then we just stay where we are. I hope this activity helped you clarify who your fiercest self is to you right now and gives you direction of how to start taking action as she would.
These are the things she does and your highest self told you. Listen to her, because you already are her. Now all you have to do is take action and be her NOW.
You got this babe!
